ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Hortus Conclusus—Latin for "enclosed garden"—evokes a space that is both physical and symbolic: a sanctuary, a container of mystery, a place where emotion and imagination take root.
This exhibition presents abstract oil paintings inspired by imaginary gardens—inner worlds cultivated through memory, feeling, and intuition. My own sacred garden has been shaped by years of living across three continents. Each cultural shift has asked me to rediscover myself in relation to new people, places, and ways of seeing the world.
Working in oil and cold wax medium, I build these imaginary gardens through accumulation and revelation—layering brushstrokes and luminous color that suggest spaces both hidden and expansive, intimate yet universal.
Each painting is accompanied by original poetry and prose, creating a dialogue between visual and written expression.
Sample Excerpt:
"Some moments flare without warning— raw, unfiltered, like irises after rain, all softness and edge, leaning into light with something like hope, something like memory."
